The Pittsburgh Steelers offense may dodge a bullet if the 49ers don't solve a contract dispute this week.

But for San Francisco, there is a chance the 49ers are without one of their top weapons.

That would be tight end George Kittle, with the latest spelling trouble for his Sunday projection:

Kittle Could Miss Sunday's Season Opener

San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle could miss the regular-season opener with a groin injury for the second straight year.

The All-Pro remained sidelined Monday when the team returned to practice after a three-day break in preparation for Sunday’s opener at Pittsburgh. Kittle has participated in just two practices in more than three weeks, none since he played 12 snaps in the preseason finale Aug. 25. – Eric Branch, San Francisco Chronicle

Probably the best pure tight end in the league, the only flaw in Kittle's game is his inability to stay on the field, having durability issues throughout the duration of his career.

But when on the field, not only is he a plus one in the blocking unit, but also deadly as a pass catcher, proving to be a matchup nightmare for most defenses across the league.

So Pittsburgh probably should, and definitely is, preparing for Kittle to be out there in week one. But if he's not, that will make life a lot easier on the defense as a whole and create an even bigger advantage for T.J. Watt on Sunday, a game I believe he will make a mark on
