The Cincinnati Bengals have made the practice squad signing of tight end Zach Gentry official and made two additional moves as well.

Per the team, linebacker Tyler Murray was released from the practice squad, and edge defender Garrett Nelson was added to replace his spot.

These moves officially put the Bengals at the 16-man practice squad limit.

Nelson, a rookie out of Nebraska, was a college free agent signee of the Miami Dolpjons this year. He spent the offseason and training camp with the Dolphins, and recorded five tackles with one sack in three preseason games while playing 42 defensive snaps.

Nelson's most productive outing from last month came against the Houston Texans when he recorded three pressures in just 10 pass-rushing snaps

Murray, a rookie out of Memphis, originally signed with the Bengals as a college free agent in May. He logged 45 snaps in three preseason games.

Swapping a linebacker for an edge defender seems wise considering the lone injury that may impact the Bengals' Week 1 game is edge defender Joseph Ossai. Nelson gives the team an extra body at the position to prepare for the Cleveland Browns, while the team still has six total linebackers on the active roster and practice squad.
