Can the Miami offensive line hold up in pass protection?
One of the biggest problems in 2022 was protecting Tua Tagovailoa, who suffered multiple concussions and missed multiple games. Miami didn't do much to answer those questions those offseason, so the hope will be that what they had in 2022 takes a significant step forward in 2023.
Terron Armstead is out at left tackle, so Miami will be even further challenged to handle the Chargers' pass rushing duo of Joey Bosa and Khalil Mack on Sunday afternoon.
3 players to watch:
- Kendall Lamm: Can the Dolphins' swing tackle fill in for Armstead and hold his own against Bosa? How well he plays will go a long way to determine how well the passing game works on Sunday.
- Brandon Jones: How much will the Dolphins' safety, who suffered an ACL tear in Week 7 last year, be ready to play? He's listed as first team on the depth chart and he practiced in full this week, so how much the team uses him this week will be interesting to watch.
- Liam Eichenberg: Back to the left side of the offensive line, Mike McDaniel left his left guard starting spot a bit of a mystery this week with vague comments about the accuracy of the depth chart. If it's Eichenberg or Isaiah Wynn, the ability of either to perform alongside Lamm is something to keep a close eye on.
