The Miami Dolphins made a substantial investment in Texas A&M RB De'Von Achane by selecting him in the third round of the 2023 draft.  Instead, an undrafted free agent will join the Miami backfield on Sunday.

The Dolphins released their inactive list for Sunday's game, and Achane will be out for the contest.

Achane was listed on the practice report as a full participant all week with a shoulder injury that he suffered against Houston in the preseason.  However, earlier today Achane was reportedly expected to be out today with mention made of being rusty from recovering from injury.

Instead, RB Chris Brooks will join Raheem Mostert and Salvon Ahmed as Miami's three active running backs against the Chargers.  Brooks, a rookie undrafted free agent out of BYU, has been far and away the team's most physical back and could see short yardage opportunities on Sunday.

Regardless, Brooks' rise from roster hopeful to the active roster with a chance to have a role is something that most players only dream of.
