As if Bryce Young's rather pedestrian preseason wasn't enough, an unlikely face rubbed salt into the wound.
Following a 21-19 loss to the New York Giants, Young was ready to meet the press for his contract-obligated post-game press conference.
A Giants staffer was setting the microphone up for Young, not knowing he wasn't in the room. The staffer then asked, "How's this?' the staffer asked in front of the microphone. 'I'm 5'9". So this won't block him?"
That is when the staffer realized that Young was in the room and quickly apologized.
As Young walked towards the microphone, he could be heard responding, "The difference between 5'9" and 5'10" is huge."
Media members then laughed.
Such is life for short quarterbacks.
Much has been written already about Young's height pre and post-draft. It is still a concern, a slight one.
And now Young, though talented, is getting roasted by some of the most unsuspecting people around the football team.
