The Buffalo Bills have an offensive line problem.

This past week has been a whirlwind. With Brandon Shell reportedly retiring to Tommy Doyle being carted off the field, the already thin unit just got even thinner.

Doyle appeared to hyperextended his leg in a gruesome injury during the team's second preseason contest against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The rising star was carted off the field and immediately we thought the worse, though we were given no concrete information.

Now, Bills head coach Sean McDermott made the unfortunate announcement that Doyle will be out for the season. I previously wrote about Doyle's injury and how he was going to be a crucial part of the depth for the team.

All you want out of preseason is to go in and stay healthy and get important reps. For Doyle, he was fighting for a backup position and was looking to bounce back after missing substantial time with an ACL injury.

With Doyle out yet again, this could derail his entire career. Doyle has been limited to just 12 games due to injury and this unfortunate update and past injury concerns is a worrying sign for a young player trying to make a difference.

Hoping for a speedy recovery and that Doyle can make it back onto the field for the Bills next season. A crushing blow to an already thinning unit. With this latest development, Brandon Beane is going to need to make a few phone calls to get some depth on this roster.
