Former Tennessee Vols defensive lineman Matthew Butler went viral this week for a hit he delivered during the Las Vegas Raiders' joint practices with the Los Angeles Rams.
Butler, a fifth round selection by the Raiders in the 2022 NFL Draft, completely destroyed a Rams offensive lineman during a practice this past week.
Nothing I type can do the video justice. Butler and the offensive lineman aren't even in the frame when the short video begins. And next thing you know, an offensive lineman in a Rams jersey is flying across the screen.
Butler's teammates, including two-time Pro Bowl edge rusher Maxx Crosby, absolutely loved what they saw from Butler on that rep.
The former Vol played in six games as a rookie last season for the Raiders. Butler totaled 0.5 sacks and five tackles in those six games.
Based on the video of him demoralizing a Rams offensive lineman, I'd say that Butler is poised to play a bigger role for Las Vegas in his second season in the NFL.
