A former Tennessee Vols assistant coach made an appearance on HBO's "Hard Knocks" on Tuesday night.

This year's '"Hard Knocks" centers on the New York Jets and their preparations for the 2023 season.

Former Tennessee wide receivers coach Zach Azzanni in his first season as the Jets' wide receivers coach after spending the last five seasons working as the Denver Broncos' wide receivers coach.

Azzanni was Tennessee's wide receivers coach from 2013 to 2016 (he was also the Vols' passing game coordinator during his final two seasons at UT).

On Tuesday, Azzanni was featured in a scene speaking with his wide receivers after practice.

The interesting thing about that scene is how Azzanni let veteran wide receiver Randall Cobb speak up. Cobb, who played with Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers when the two players were with the Green Bay Packers, implored his teammates to clean up their mistakes. Cobb warned his teammates that if Rodgers doesn't fully trust a wide receiver, specifically when it comes to running the right route, then he won't look their way during a game.

Azzanni has a front-row seat for the end of Rodgers' Hall of Fame career. And thanks to "Hard Knocks", he'll forever have video documentation of his first training camp alongside the superstar quarterback.
