There may be a lot of things to question with the current iteration of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but nothing has been more peculiar than how this franchise has handled one of its most important players in Ryan Jensen.

From the jump, the handling of Jensen's injury mixed with the lack of any information stood out as weird. Jensen coming back to make an appearance in the playoffs made it seem like everything was okay (despite a continued lack of information), but now there are more questions than ever.

With every week that passes with less information and less time on the field, fans have to get more and more comfortable with the very concerning idea that Jensen may not be a part of this team for much longer.

If the franchise didn't want the fanbase to speculate, they could've been clear from the start. However, now the speculation begins, and it'll be hard to put that genie back in the bottle until some concrete information is given.

There is not one similar situation in modern franchise history that creates a precedent for this one. The team has gone through about every possible injury and scandal and still been somewhat transparent.

How the team could provide more information on the decisions regarding Antonio Brown or suspensions with high-profile players like Jameis Winston and simply ignore the Jensen year-long injury is beyond this writer.

Todd Bowles has been a bit of a clam on important information more than once during his tumultuous tenure as the Buccaneers head coach, but even he has to see that people would like some type of update as to why the All-Pro caliber starting center has been out for a full year (other than one game) with no end in sight.

At this point, one has to legitimately wonder whether or not Jensen's career could be in jeopardy.

Maybe we all get lucky and Jensen returns down the road, but even the best-case scenario right now looks like he is going to miss some real time during this season after not playing or practicing in the preseason, and that will only make matters worse for a new quarterback and a new offensive coordinator.

Todd Bowles is the head coach for now. He can do whatever he likes. However, when he does get fired, and we do mean when, situations like this will be one of many focal points as we try to piece together the confusion of this disappointing era.

Buccaneers HC confirms suspicion surrounding Ryan Jensen’s injury

When Tampa Bay Buccaneers Pro Bowl center Ryan Jensen went down Thursday with a leg injury, it was quickly assumed he would miss significant time, if not the whole 2022 season. Sure enough, Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles confirmed that Jensen will indeed miss significant time after Friday's practice. "I don't know the severity of […]
