Here it is. One last preseason game for the Detroit Lions and then it's on to cutdowns before Week 1 against the Super Bowl Champion Kansas City Chiefs.

This might not feel like a big game, but it is. There's roster spots on the line and for a lot of guys, this is their last chance to show what they can do on the football field until next year. So you have to believe that guys will be out there looking to put on a show.

There's four guys that we'll being paying the most attention to on Friday night. Here they are:

Dylan Drummond

I know you’re used to hearing his name and seeing him on these lists, but this is the biggest game of his young career. The Lions are looking for receiver depth and Drummond has a chance to prove that they have it right here on the roster if he can just go out and bring some of the stuff he’s shown at camp onto the field for a game. If Drummond can do that, he could cement a spot for himself on the Lions 53 man roster.

Chase Lucas

Dan Campbell had some praise for Lucas on Wednesday and alluded to the idea that he still has a chance to make the Lions 53 man roster this year. The Lions secondary is pretty well figured out, but a little depth would be nice. Plus the Lions could use some special teams standouts. If Lucas can have a good game in both areas, he could win himself a spot on the main roster.

Jason Cabinda

There’s a real chance that the Lions decide to go into the season without a fullback this year after Jason Cabinda has looked off during the preseason. The Lions can essentially use a tight end at the fullback spot of they need to. That doesn’t mean it’s already over though. Cabinda still has a shot to make it if he can go out and have a better outing against the Panthers. He has that body of work that the Lions are looking for. He just needs to trend back upwards.

Nate Sudfeld

The Lions have their backup in Teddy Bridgewater, but will they decide to carry three quarterbacks? Since the Lions reportedly will activate Hendon Hooker during this season, that could open the door for Sudfeld to make the Lions roster and hold down the third spot until Hooker comes back. Then Sudfeld could be the teams practice squad quarterback. He needs to have a much better outing than he’s had in the first two games where he threw two interceptions. It might be a longshot for Sudfeld at this time, but there’s still a chance for him.

The Lions should sign Equanimeous St. Brown if he’s released

The NFL cutdown day is just a few days away and an interesting name could be available for the Detroit Lions next week. That name is Amon-Ra St. Brown's older brother Equanimeous St. Brown.  Our own Bears reporter Bryce Lazenby suggested on Thursday morning that St. Brown could be the odd man out with the […]
