The Miami Dolphins provided some great news the morning after the team's 31-18 preseason loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Per the team, WR Daewood Davis was released from the hospital and is returning back to Miami.
That's fantastic news, especially given the apparent severity of the injury at the time it happened.
In the fourth quarter with 8:32 left, Davis went low for a pass from QB Skylar Thompson and was hit high by Jaguars LB Dequan Jackson at an awkward angle. Davis rolled over to his face, where he remained motionless. A backboard and cart were brought out as the team stood on the field around him amid the somber moment. Minutes later, the game was called.
The Dolphins did advise after the game that Davis was conscious and had movement in all of his extremities.
The rookie wide receiver from Western Kentucky has been likely battling for a spot on the Dolphins' practice squad. Regardless of whether he ends up staying in Miami or not, his quick recovery from a very scary situation is the biggest and best thing from Saturday night in Jacksonville.
