The New York Giants are keeping one of their own. Cornerback Darnay Holmes is taking a pay cut to remain with the team, according to multiple sources. Holmes has spent the past three seasons with New York.

In three NFL seasons, Holmes has totaled 97 tackles, two interceptions, and 15 pass deflections.

He is listed as the backup nickelback for the Giants, according to Ourlads. Holmes played 59% of snaps last season for New York. He projects to be a depth piece in their secondary this season. At only 25, he still has some gas left in the tank when it comes to his playing age.

It's a good sign to see a multi-year defender for the team taking a pay cut to stay with the team, though. He believes in Brian Daboll and the season outlook for the Giants.
