One of the Tennessee Vols' top remaining 2024 recruiting targets announced his commitment plans on Friday.

2024 five-star defensive lineman Kamarion Franklin will announce his college decision on August 19.

Franklin will be choosing between Auburn, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Miami, and Florida State.

Franklin, 6-foot-5/265 lbs from Lake Cormorant, MS, is rated by 247Sports as the No. 6 defensive lineman in the nation and the No. 30 overall player in the 2024 recruiting class.

On3's Chad Simmons noted this week that most of the buzz surrounding Franklin centers on Auburn. Simmons also pointed out that Tennessee has some buzz in this recruiting battle, but the momentum appears to be with Auburn.

Obviously, missing on Franklin would be unfortunate for the Vols — especially with five-star defensive lineman Williams Nwaneri likely bound for Missouri, Oklahoma, or Georgia. But Tennessee finally has some nice depth along their defensive line, so it's not like missing on Franklin will spell doom for the future of the Vols' defense.
