The holdout saga involving Kansas City Chiefs DT Chris Jones has reached a new level of ridiculousness.

Jones remains away from the team as he seeks a long-term contract extension. The All-Pro defensive tackle has been posting plenty of cryptic messages on social media lately, causing quite a stir throughout Chiefs Kingdom

For his latest cryptic message, Jones enlisted the help of an award-winning American film director to give it a little extra flare. He posed with Michael Bay — who is known for directing films like "Bad Boys", "Armageddon", "Pearl Harbor" and "Transformers" — for a pair of photos and an explosive caption.

"WOW just with my buddy CHRIS JONES," Bay wrote. "He just quit the TEAM !! Crazy!"

In the first photo, they're smiling and looking serious. In the second photo, they're cracking up in laughter.

Really, it was an Oscar-worthy performance from the pair.

No, Jones didn't quit the team, but it is clear that he's getting a kick out of all the attention he has been getting lately.

Really, all we're left wondering — What the heck are Jones and Michael Bay up to? Jones did recently take a foray into acting with teammate Travis Kelce. Maybe we'll be seeing him in Hollywood soon enough.
