Less than 24 hours since their win, we know the snap counts for the New Orleans Saints from their matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs. A few aspects stand out, but one piece of info from their snap counts is majorly important.

The linebacker battle is happening right before our eyes in preseason action. Nick Anderson seems to be the lowest on the totem pole right now, only logging 6 defensive snaps in their win versus KC.

Meanwhile, Ty Summers is leading the pack of LBs jockeying for position as he was on the field for 39% of the team's defensive snaps. D'Marco Jackson played 38%, and Nephi Sewell played 30% of defensive snaps. Those three feel like the front-runners to certainly lock down a linebacker spot behind Demario Davis and Pete Werner.

The addition of Jaylon Smith makes the road tougher for all of the depth linebacker on New Orleans, too. Rookie Anfernee Orji had a couple of nice plays on Sunday but just logged 25% of snaps. That being said, they may prefer his special teams prowess, and that can go a long way. He was on the field for 61% of those snaps. That is notable.

The competition is still in full force, and jobs will be won over the next couple of weeks at linebacker. Keep an eye on these players.
