The Buffalo Bills' front office had high hopes that bringing in first-round draft pick Dalton Kincaid would provide a spark to the offense.
While some may have questioned if there were enough footballs to go around with the already talented offense, they may have just been silenced. All it took was one day of camp and one single pass.
Kincaid, surprisingly, was the recipient of the very first pass of camp. A potential sign for things to come as the rookie has high hopes, maybe just as high as the Bills Mafia's hopes.
Kincaid was brought in to be a seam-killer, to allow the Bills to line up in 12 personnel sets, or 11.5 if you ask Brandon Beane, and give Josh Allen another weapon on offense or even some more protection up front. In fact, in the Bills' first attempt at 12 personnel with Kincaid, Allen was able to find the tight end for a touchdown.
Josh Allen gushed about the new tight end immediately after practice. "Fun to throw to…Has good body language." The franchise quarterback complimenting his new target could be an indication of an expanded role in the offense, after just one practice. What's more,
With camp beginning today, and Allen finding Kincaid on the very first play, the rookie has to be thrilled with his usage. While it's only the first day of camp, it's an encouraging sign for an explosive offense hoping to take the next step this season.
If Kincaid can ball out, and provide Allen another important weapon on offense, this team is about to be a nightmare matchup for opposing defenses. Brandon Beane, by not bringing in DeAndre Hopkins, may have helped the team unlock their true potential with Kincaid playing more of an inside role.
Regardless, football is back. Today is a great day to be a member of the Bills Mafia.
Dalton Kincaid has a special message for the Bills Mafia
They are going to love him in Buffalo.
