Training camp is underway across the NFL, and that means we are one step closer to real football being played.

Camp is exciting because it's our first real look at our teams. Players are battling for positions, and tensions run high at points. This is especially the case when teams hold joint practices, which is something the Titans have done several times.

In 2019, the Titans held joint practices with the New England Patriots. One former Titan recently detailed a testy exchange that took place during one of these practices.

Jason McCourty spent nine seasons in Nashville as a Titan. In a cost-cutting move after the 2016 season, McCourty was released.

After spending one season with the Cleveland Browns, McCourty joined his brother Devin on the Patriots. The McCourty twins would end up winning Super Bowl LIII with the Patriots.

Just months after this Super Bowl victory, the Patriots came to Nashville for joint practices with the Titans

Jason McCourty, who is now an analyst on NFL Network's Good Morning Football, recently explained that his homecoming was not without flare.

"Corey Davis and Stephon Gilmore get into it, shoving match," explained McCourty. "DBs and receivers came over, nothing crazy. But Jon Robinson runs on the field and he tries to separate us. Me and Robinson are nose-to-nose, there were some choice words. I was getting it off my chest, I can't say the stuff on air that I said to him."

McCourty was upset with Robinson, in the moment. "It was real. You (Robinson) cut me," proclaimed the veteran corner. But the two professionals but everything to the side, afterward, as McCourty went on to explain that he and Robinson "went in and laughed about it afterward."

It's just one of the many, many instances where flared tempers can get the best of the best in training camp. But at the end of the day, the professional side shines through and all parties are (typically) OK once the dust settles.

But, at the same time, McCourty certainly got his revenge moment and it's safe to say it probably felt great.
