The New Orleans Saints were missing something major last season. It felt like the team did not have a true leader when it came to their offense. Andy Dalton did his best, but his on-field performances weren't enough to truly carry that weight. Jameis Winston had the character for it, but his injury situation and lack of playing time kept that role off of him.

Overall, they felt a bit helpless when it came to leadership, but that will be different this year. New quarterback Derek Carr will be the leader for the Saints offense. Pro Bowl offensive tackle Ryan Ramcyzk has a lot of belief in Carr's ability on and off the field.

Now, that doesn't mean that there won't be plenty of pressure on Carr on the field. Saints fans got use to Drew Brees-level consistency for over a decade in New Orleans.

That hasn't been nearly the case since his retirement, and they need someone to fill the void as the voice of the offense that can also put up big numbers when necessary. No one is Brees, but Carr has to be better than what the Saints have had recently.

Will Carr do that? Only time will tell, but he has the talent around him to accomplish it. Regardless, it sounds like he is commanding the team well, and they have tons of respect for their new QB in New Orleans.
