The New Orleans Saints just replaced one former player with another on their coaching staff. After the departure of Sterling Moore earlier this offseason, the Saints are adding former NFL defensive back Matt Giordano as an assistant secondary coach.
The move was first reported by Nick Underhill. Giordano played for the Saints in 2010.
Giordano also spent time playing for Dennis Allen during his NFL career. Aside from 2010, he played for Allen in 2012 with the Raiders. He's not the first former Saint to get a coaching opportunity from the team this year, either.
Ted Ginn Jr. has been working with the wide receivers. La'Roi Glover and Jahri Evans have both been added to the staff, too. Evans is an offensive assistant, and Glover is a training camp intern. Giordano is another intriguing piece to an NFL experience-filled staff in New Orleans.
