Training camp is an exciting time for many reasons, but it's also a stressful, nerve-wracking time for both fans and teams.
That's because everyone wants to avoid the dreaded camp injury to a star player that could play a big role in derailing the season. And the only way to completely avoid it is to keep players out of practice, which we know isn't going to happen.
Especially with rookies. Unfortunately, Green Bay Packers rookie wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks was bitten by the injury bug when he suffered a concussion during the team's first training camp practice.
Fortunately, it doesn't look like the injury will last long. Wicks was on the sidelines watching Saturday's practice session, which hints toward a coming return. And much sooner than later.
It's obviously great news for Wicks, who has a good shot at competing for a decent role in 2023. The fifth-round pick has looked pretty good so far this offseason and outside of Christian Watson and Romeo Doubs, things are largely unsettled. Now, it's all about getting out there and making the most of his opportunity.
