A two-time NFL Pro Bowler took a shot this weekend at former Tennessee Vols wide receiver Jauan Jennings that he may end up regretting.
Jennings, a seventh-round selection by the San Francisco 49ers in the 2020 NFL Draft, commented on a post from the NFL's official Instagram account that highlighted Dallas Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs as the No. 60 player on the NFL's list of the top 100 players entering the 2023 season.
"Can't wait to see him again," read Jennings' comment.
Diggs responded, saying "u will never line up in front of me in your life". That comment from Diggs is insinuating that Jennings isn't good enough for Diggs to be tasked with covering him.
Diggs might want to be careful. After all, it was just last season when Jennings laid Diggs out during a game with a nasty block.
Jennings was fined for that block on Diggs (and Diggs later went after Jennings on the sideline).
Diggs is obviously a great defender. And maybe he's right that Jennings will never be lined up across from him. But I'm not sure I'd be talking trash to Jennings — especially since Jennings already made Diggs look silly on the field last season.
The Cowboy and the 49ers meet in Week 5 on NBC's Sunday Night Football.
