The 2023 college football season is just a couple of weeks away which means several national media outlets are making their final win/loss predictions ahead of the new season.

On Tuesday, 247Sports published their final win/loss predictions for each SEC program and spoiler alert, they don't have the Tennessee Vols going undefeated.

In fact, they don't even have Tennessee matching their 11-2 record from last season.

Instead, 247Sports has the Vols going 9-3 this fall with losses to Alabama, Missouri, and Georgia.

From 247Sports: Josh Heupel has this program rolling and it's a matter of time before Tennessee gets to the playoff under his guidance. It's not going to happen in 2023, though. The Vols will be 6-0 and ranked inside the top 10 going to Alabama before being humbled with a 3-3 record during the second half. A potential unexplainable loss could come at Missouri in November, which comes right before the all-important home game with Georgia. That has trap written all over it for the Vols. Remember the faceplant at South Carolina in 2022? This would feel similar.

I can understand the predicted losses to Alabama and Georgia. The Vols haven't won in Tuscaloosa since 2003. And they haven't beaten Georgia since 2016. It's more than fair to suggest those games are expected losses for Tennessee.

But Missouri?

The same Missouri that Tennessee has beaten by a combined 80 points the last two seasons?

I'm not saying it's not possible — playing at Missouri tends to the suck the life out of teams — but it certainly isn't likely.

The Vols will obviously need to prepare for that game just like they would prepare for a game against Alabama or Georgia. And as long as they prepare the right way, they shouldn't have any issues taking down the Tigers for a fifth straight season.
