The Kansas City Chiefs are making sure everyone who played a part in the Super Bowl LVII win against the Philadelphia Eagles gets rewarded for their efforts.
Players, coaches, executives, athletic trainers, operations staff and so on have all already received their Super Bowl LVII rings, but now a new group is being rewarded. Members of the Chiefs Ambassadors, which is the team's community service-driven organization compiled of former players, are now receiving their Super Bowl LVII rings.
A pair of former players took to the website formerly known as Twitter to share their customized Super Bowl rings, starting with Tamba Hali. The former first-round draft pick out of Penn State played in Kansas City from 2006 through 2017. He thanked the team, Clark Hunt, Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid for bringing home another Lombardi Trophy.
Former Chiefs FB Christian Okoye, who played with the team from 1987 through 1992, also received his ring. He had a more hands-on role in Super Bowl LVII compared to some of the other Ambassadors. He welcomed the team to Phoenix, Arizona as they arrived at the airport ahead of the big game, even snapping photos with some of the team's biggest stars.
Okoye received his ring just ahead of his 63rd birthday.
Super Bowl rings for the Chiefs Ambassadors has become a tradition for the organization. Okoye also shared that he'd received a ring after the team defeated the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LIV, as did WRs Danan Hughes and Marc Boerigter. All are members of the Chiefs Ambassadors.
The Chiefs are the type of franchise to value the work that happens off of the field in the community just as much as what happens between the hash marks. It shouldn't surprise that they're recognizing the former players who continue to dedicate their time and energy to making Kansas City a better place.
