New Orleans Saints wide receiver Michael Thomas has had gleaming reviews in training camp so far. He looks healthy, and he is working back plenty of his explosiveness. His route running has always been extremely impressive. Thomas is a cerebral receiver that finds space better than most other pass-catchers. On Thursday in a joint practice with the Los Angeles Chargers, Thomas made some big plays.
One of his best was a smooth route against All-Pro safety Derwin James. NOFNetwork got the highlight on video, and it is a beauty.
They post consistent highlights and updates, so check out Nick Underhill and his team as well.
Thomas' movement on this particular route stands out because he is known for quick cuts on short-to-intermediate routes. It looks like he's back to form – or at least, close to it right now.
The Saints don't need the Michael Thomas from three years ago. Although, if they can get a healthy version of him, that'll be enough. Thomas, alongside Chris Olave, creates a terrifying WR duo for the Saints.
