Former Tennessee Vols wide receiver Jauan Jennings is one of the most popular players to ever wear the Orange and White.

Jennings, a Murfreesboro, TN native, didn't break records at Tennessee — his best season was in 2019 when he caught 59 passes for 969 yards and eight touchdowns — but he made sure he'd never be forgotten by the he played (and still plays) the game.

The former four-star recruit never took a play off at Tennessee and he doesn't take plays off for the San Francisco 49ers, the team that selected Jennings in the seventh round of the 2020 NFL Draft.

Catching passes, blocking defenders, or pissing off defensive backs — it doesn't matter what what's asked of him, Jennings completes the task with 100 percent effort when he's on the field.

On Thursday, Jennings was asked specifically if he'd like to play a bigger role in the offense (catching passes on early downs). And Jennings delivered an answer that any football fan will love.

"I just do my job," said Jennings. "That's it. I just love playing football. My job is also to go out there and hit DBs. That's one of my favorite parts of my job, too."

"I weigh 210," added Jennings. "I have not faced one DB that weighs 210 so I have fun. That's all it is."

"Football guy" is a term that can be thrown around a bit liberally at times. But it truly applies to Jennings. The guy just loves football. Jennings doesn't care if he's catching passes, hitting defensive backs or juicing up his teammates — he just wants to be on the field contributing. And that's why the former Vol has been able to carve out a nice role in the NFL with the 49ers despite not getting drafted until the seventh round.
