If you're a New Orleans Saints fan, you know linebacker Pete Werner. In his first two seasons, Werner has elevated the depth of the LB position for the Saints to a level that we haven't seen often in the last decade. Demario Davis has been rock-solid for his time in The Big Easy, but behind him, there have been questions. Werner has answered him since he entered the league.
Werner is turning into a three-down type of LB that the Saints can trust. Unfortunately, Madden 24 did not give that same trust to the young linebacker. EA Sports gave the Saints linebacker just a 77 overall in this year's game.
He battled injuries last year, but he was still impressive when on the field. He's one of the best run-stopping linebackers in the NFL when healthy, and his pass defense has stepped up, too.
For Werner, he will look to prove the doubters wrong again in 2023. He totaled 80 tackles in 11 starts for the Saints last season. Those accompanied 3 tackles for loss, 3 pass deflections, and 2 forced fumbles. He's an important factor for New Orleans on their defense.
