The Kansas City Chiefs' best defender is not showing up to training camp while he and the team are currently in a contract dispute.

The Chiefs nearly had perfect attendance for their training camp until Chris Jones decided not to show up. The All-Pro defensive tackle is currently fighting for an extension, as he feels he deserves more money, and he does.

According to multiple reports, the two sides are far apart on a deal.

On Sunday, the first day of training camp for non-rookies, Jones wasn't there, and head coach Andy Reid addressed the media about the whole deal.

"As far as Chris (Jones) goes, we'll just see how things go here down the road," Reid said. "There have been communications; we'll see where it goes from here. We'll take it. If you're not here, we just keep moving, and that's how we roll. We don't worry a lot about all that. We let it take care of itself."

CEO Clark Hunt spoke about the situation as well.

"I leave that to Brett Veach & his staff," Hunt said. "I'm not involved in that. We love Chris (Jones), and when he decides to report, we'll welcome him. I don't want to get into speculating on when that'll happen or if that'll happen."

The Chiefs and Jones don't want this situation to go on too long, so hopefully, we will see a deal soon. Everyone loves Jones, and this defense desperately needs him.
