New Orleans Saints training camp kicked off last week for rookies. This week, veterans will join them to prepare for this season. One experienced defender for the Saints put a bow on his offseason in the best way imaginable.
Saints defensive lineman Malcolm Roach hosted a shoe drive for kids in his hometown of Baton Rouge.
Off the field, Roach has always been very involved in the community. This was the fourth time that he has hosted this hometown event, and it is always a hit within the community. Kids love it, and parents rave about it. Saints star DE Cam Jordan made an appearance as well.
Roach's yearly event provides about 300-350 pairs of free shoes to children before the start of the new school year.
