The New England Patriots players reported to Gillette Stadium for the start of training camp on Monday morning, but it was wondered whether Lawrence Guy would be among them.
Guy did not attend the spring practices over issues with his contract and Belichick was hopeful that it was all behind them.
"I hope so. We'll see," Belichick said when asked if the situation has been resolved. "It's football season. Most players play football in football season."
And while shrugging his shoulders, Belichick gave a very simple answer when asked if Guy would be among those players.
"Yah, I guess so," Belichick said. "We'll find out in an hour or so. I haven't been in there. They are doing physicals."
It seems Belichick was correct, with ESPN's Mike Reiss reporting that Guy did report to the facility on Tuesday.
Guy is entering his seventh season with the Patriots and 11th in the league. Across his NFL career, the defensive end has 469 total tackles with 17 sacks, two forced fumbles, six fumble recoveries, and one interception.
He is a huge part of the defensive and will be crucial for the team this upcoming season.
