The New Orleans Saints have had a busy day on the free agency market. After bringing back veteran tight end Jimmy Graham, they announced the signing of two offensive lineman. The Saints are signing five-time Pro Bowl OL Trai Turner and OL Max Garcia, who started seven games last season for the Arizona Cardinals.
Both players provided needed, veteran depth on the interior of the offensive line. Cesar Ruiz and Andrus Peat have both seen their fair share of injuries and inconsistency in recent seasons. Turner and Garcia could be important factors if either, or both, go down at any point this season.
Turner made five straight Pro Bowls from 2015-2019. He is a former third-round pick of the Carolina Panthers. He played his college ball at LSU.
Garcia has 59 NFL starts in his career at guard. He can play left or right guard and has started eighteen games in the past two years for the Cardinals. Purely a depth move, he will battle with younger options for a roster spot to open the year.
