The Kansas City Chiefs have a potential star on their hands.

Last offseason, when the Chiefs signed undrafted free agent rookie Justyn Ross, fans and media knew it was only a matter of time before some crazy things happened. The only thing that could hold Ross back from being special is injuries.

And that's exactly what happened in 2022, as he didn't play a single foot, dealing with a foot injury.

He has been ready this offseason and has more than lived up to the hype. He is making highlight play after highlight play, and it would appear that he and superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes are building a special chemistry.

The biggest thing, though, is that he is continuing to improve. It isn't just one thing he does good and then doesn't do anything again. He is getting better.

"Yeah, he's doing good," Andy Reid told reporters on Wednesday. "It was a redshirt year; he probably didn't want to have right with the injury. But he's done a nice job, he had a good offseason, and then he's worked his tail off here. He just needs to keep doing that. It's how you answer the bell every day and push through it, but he's got the right mindset to do that."

The Chiefs lost Mecole Hardman and JuJu Smith-Schuster in the offseason, who was their number one guy just a year ago. They came into this season expecting Kadarius Toney to be the new number-one guy. However, as often as he deals with injuries, they will need a guy to step up and provide a similar skill set and production.

Ross has been that guy in camp. He brings elite route running and separation to the table. He isn't the fastest dude in the world and isn't even the fastest guy in his position room; however, he can get open with the best of them.

If you need further evidence, there is currently a video going around of Ross running a route, shaking the defender so much that he had time to wipe his hands on his towel, which was tucked into the back of his pants.

There is something special there.
