Former Tennessee Vols wide receiver Jalin Hyatt, a third round pick by the New York Giants in the 2023 NFL Draft, isn't being passive now he's a pro football player.

Instead, Hyatt is making things happen. The way he's played over the last week in training camp is going to force the Giants' to make him a focal point of the offense in 2023.

And that should help Hyatt achieve the lofty goal that he's set for himself.

Hyatt told reporters after practice on Thursday that his goal in 2023 is to win the NFL offensive rookie of the year award.

"I always set high goals for myself," said Hyatt. "I want to be offensive rookie of the year. I think that's the biggest thing I want to do. And we're gonna get there, you know. It's going to be day by day. We're gonna stack days and even if it's a good day or a bad day, we're gonna learn from it and get better."

A year ago at this time, Hyatt told reporters that Tennessee was going to have the best offense in the nation.

Plenty of rival fan bases laughed at Hyatt's comments, but he was right. And his play last season at Tennessee (over 1,200 receiving yards and a school record 15 receiving touchdowns on his way to winning to the Biletnikoff Award) is a big reason why he was right.

So when he says his goal is to win NFL offensive rookie of the year in 2023, I wouldn't bet against him. Hyatt has proven that when he sets a high goal, he's likely going to reach it.
