The New Orleans Saints hosted a couple of intriguing wide receivers for a workout this weekend. That culminated in a signing as well. The Saints are signing former LSU wideout and XFL star Jontre Kirklin, according to Nick Underhill

Kirklin dazzled with the Houston Roughnecks in the XFL last season with a couple of insane catches. His stats were limited as he missed some time with injury. Overall, he totaled 15 catches for 253 yards and 4 touchdowns in 4 games. Those are respectable numbers, and his physical traits are enticing.

In a bit of a jitterbug role, Kirklin's athleticism has been on display at the college and XFL level. He's used to making ridiculous grabs, and he even threw 11 passes for LSU in 2021. In those 11 throws, he threw 3 touchdowns for the Tigers.

We all know that the Saints love utility athletes. They invented the Taysom Hill role, so it'll be interesting to see if Kirklin's athletic ability grabs him a roster spot. It's worth monitoring for Saints fans.
