Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow was ranked as the No. 6 overall player in the NFL by his peers in the NFL Top 100 Players of 2023. The top 10 of the annual 100-player list was revealed Monday, featuring Burrow as the third-best QB behind Jalen Hurts (No. 3 overall) and Patrick Mahomes (No. 1 overall)

Not only did Burrow make a significant jump from last year's ranking as the 21st-best player entering the 2022 season, his placement in the top 10 is the highest a Bengals player has ever been in any edition of the NFL Top 100. 

The only other Bengals player to ever crack the top 10 was A.J. Green, when he earned the No. 9 spot in the 2014 list. Green was also the only Bengals player to ever be ranked in the top 20 before this year in the lists' 13-year history.

Burrow finding this year's top 10 wasn't too surprising after putting together his first Pro Bowl season in 2022. The Bengals' franchise passer built off his breakout 2021 campaign with 4,475 yards, and 35 touchdowns to just 12 interceptions before taking the Bengals to a second-straight AFC Championship game.

The production is nice, but his playing style, confidence, and composure under pressure are what garnered him immense praise from some of the very best players in the league.

"He's like, Cool Hand Luke," Pittsburgh Steelers defensive tackle Cameron Heyward said. "He stays very even. You never feel like you rattle him." 

You can knock his head and he don't change," New England Patriots defensive end Matthew Judon said. "He just gets right back. Be ready for the next snap."

Confidence gotta be through the roof," New Orleans Saints defensive end Cameron Jordan said. "The way he plays, there's no fear in that man's heart."
