The New Orleans Saints may not sign running back Kareem Hunt or Anthony Barr. That being said, they did make one move so far this week in free agency. After a recent flurry of injuries at tight end, the Saints signed TE/FB J.P. Holtz.

Holtz spent last season with the Saints. He appeared in six games. His largest impact was on special teams.

Depth tight ends Jesse James and Lucas Kroll are both dealing with injuries at the moment. Holtz fills the void – at least, for now. He may not earn a roster spot by the start of the season, but having another guy that knows the system in the building can never hurt.

Neither James' or Krull's injury is perceived to be serious. We will see when they return for New Orleans. For now, Holtz grabs a depth spot for the Saints.
