Expectations have been raised for the Cincinnati Bengals in all regards.
Not only has the team been winning on the field, they've been winning in the offseason.
But things haven't been all sunshine and rainbows this year.
In a study done by gambling.com, the Bengals' fanbase ranks as the second most negative since free agency began, taking into account Facebook and Reddit posts, and Twitter polls.
Free agency has gone on for a week, and the first few days were definitely not pretty for Bengals fans. The team had lost Vonn Bell, Jessie Bates III, Hayden Hurst, and Samaje Perine all before Orlando Brown Jr. came into the picture.
The signing of Brown eased a lot of tensions, as did Nick Scott agreeing to terms to replace Bell, but there's still some angst that lingers. Tight end still hasn't been addressed in any capacity after Hurst departed, and there's uncertainty as to what happens with Joe Mixon at running back with the team seemingly locked in on drafting his eventual replacement for the long-term.
Cincinnati's current cap space is ~$17 million, which is far from the ceiling, but not out of the norm for the franchise. The Bengals never go all the way up to the cap early in the offseason, but they usually end up around $10 million in space by the time the NFL Draft rolls around.
There's still time for the Bengals to put themselves in good position for the Draft, but the clock is certainly ticking.
