The Denver Broncos have been busy so far this offseason.

Sean Payton and company have filled some holes on the roster while also taking care of some depth positions. The Broncos front office fired off deals almost immediately upon the free agency opening, and the team is better for it.

While last season has left a sour taste in the mouths of fans, this offseason should be an indicator that things are going to be changing in Denver. After Payton was announced as head coach, the fanbase has been revitalized.

Some of the more impressive offseason moves were focused on protecting Russell Wilson at all costs. Denver went all in signing Mike McGlinchey and Ben Powers to help bolster that offensive line and protect Wilson. Additionally, they went out and grabbed one of the best blocking TEs in Chris Manhertz, and some depth at the running back position by nabbing Samaje Perine.

With another slew of moves under his belt, the dust has settled and the team can start looking toward filling some more positions on the roster.

PFF recently came out with a list of the biggest needs for all 32 NFL teams after the first wave of free agency. For Denver, it was a linebacker and wide receiver. Despite re-signing defensive cornerstone Alex Singleton, the defense still needs some depth at the linebacker position. Denver could look to the draft to fill in this position of need or potentially target some of the available free agents. Bobby Wagner is a possibility, a veteran linebacker who has experience working with Russell Wilson.

Wide receiver is the one position Russell Wilson should be most excited for. A quarterback getting more weapons is never a bad thing. With Denver spending so much capital on protecting the Oline and getting blocking tight ends, getting one or two receivers is exactly what Russell might be hoping for.

Then again, a wide receiver could be a potential weak point on the team with all the rumors of a Jerry Jeudy departure. Where there's smoke, there's fire, and there appears to be plenty of smoke surrounding the talented young wide receiver.

Denver has done a great job of protecting Russell, let's see if they can make him protected AND happy by nailing a top wide receiver. If Russell is happy and the offense is humming, Denver fans will be happy too.

We still have a long way to go before meaningful football. So far, Sean Payton has done a great job navigating this offseason.
