The Buffalo Bills could use a bruising running back to take their offense to the next level in 2023.

And as luck would have it, a running back that fits the bill might be available.

Bally Sports' Mike Silver reported on Monday morning that the Tennessee Titans are currently shopping superstar running back Derrick Henry.

Henry, who just turned 29, is under contract for just one more year. He's set to earn $10 million in 2023. The Titans would save a little over $6 million in cap space by trading him.

With the Titans reshaping their roster, it doesn't make sense for them to extend an aging running back. Henry is still productive — he rushed for over 1,500 yards in 2022 — but there isn't a big market for running backs north of 30.

The Bills could acquire Henry — it's unclear what kind of compensation the Titans want for the former Alabama star — without majorly impacting their future plans. One year of Henry might be all Josh Allen needs to bring a Super Bowl trophy to Buffalo.

By the way, Bills pass rusher Von Miller has already been "recruiting" Henry to Buffalo, reacting recently positively to a trade proposal that had the Titans running back landing with the Bills.

As long as the Bills don't have to give up a lot to get Henry (a mid-round pick would be reasonable, but they don't need to give up a first-round pick for a rental player), this could be a great scenario for Buffalo. Henry would bring another element to the offense, making the Bills even tougher to defend. And acquiring him wouldn't impact the salary cap longterm.
