The Minnesota Vikings announced the addition of two new assistant coaches for the 2023 season.
On Friday, the Vikings announced that Mike Siravo has been hired to coach inside linebackers and Lance Bennett will join the staff as a defensive quality control coach.
The Vikes also announced that Grant Udinski will be the team’s assistant quarterbacks coach after serving as an assistant to the head coach in 2022.
Siravo 20 seasons of coaching experience between the collegiate ranks and the NFL. He also has ties to defensive coordinator Brian Flores as he served as a graduate assistant at Boston College in 2020, where Flores was a freshman at the time.
Much like Siravo, Bennett has also worked alongside Flores. The pair were high school teammates in Brooklyn, New York, and Bennett served as an assistant to Flores when the ladder was the head coach of the Miami Dolphins from 2019-2021.
Familiarity is clearly something Flores is prioritizing in his first season with Minnesota. With his defensive staff rounding out, the Vikings can now shift their attention to the NFL’s upcoming free agency period.
