Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson established himself as the NFL’s top dog at his position in 2022. However, one major entity is disrespecting Jefferson in its latest list.
Pro Football Focus is known to be one of football’s most reputable databases for its grading system. But that all went out of the window with its embarrassing assessment of Jefferson’s 2022 campaign.
Jefferson checked in at No. 8 on PFF’s list of the top 101 players from the 2022 season. Considering this list takes into account every position in football, being ranked eighth is nothing to sneeze at.
But Jefferson wasn’t even ranked as the top wideout in the league. That spot went to Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill who falls at the No. 7 slot.
Not only did Jefferson lead the league in receptions (128) and receiving yards (1,809), but he gave Calvin Johnson’s all-time receiving record quite a run.
Jefferson didn’t just have a great year in 2022, he had a historic season. The only possible reason for these rankings could be the fact that Hill led the NFL with 48 explosive plays as a pass-catcher. The again, Jefferson finished right behind him with 47 of his own.
Nobody that watches football actually believes that Hill had a better season than Jefferson. By the looks of it, this could just be a big ploy to insight engagement via outrage by PFF. And if so, congratulations because it worked.
