Vikings GM talks Justin Jefferson extension
The Minnesota Vikings general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah said something interesting about his star player that will excite fans
The Minnesota Vikings have one of the best players in the league on their team. It's crazy too because it feels like for a large part of the time the Vikings have been a franchise, they have almost always had a guy who is considered a top-three wide receiver.
There was Cris Carter, then Randy Moss. And most recently Stefon Diggs, Adam Thielen, and now of course Justin Jefferson, the best in the league. It's safe to say they have been fortunate in the wide receiver area.
The Vikings need to do everything they can to keep Jefferson though. He is a guy you can't let go, and it sounds like general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah understands that too.
His recent comments about keeping the superstar receiver in Minnesota should have fans over the moon with excitement.
“I don’t want to be the Vikings GM without that guy on our team,” Adofo-Mensah said during the NFL Combine on Tuesday.
That's a hefty statement to make, as it sounds like he is basically putting his job on the line if they can't get Jefferson extended. So, in essence, that should excite Vikings fans a lot. Because that comes off as no matter what happens Jefferson is getting an extension, which is what everyone wants.
The fan base oftentimes doesn't agree on everything, like Kirk Cousins, and other things. But, I think it's safe to say that everyone can agree Justin Jefferson is wanted in Minnesota for a long time.
