Bengals hosted free agent who used to play with Joe Burrow
An important need could soon be filled for the Cincinnati Bengals.
The Cincinnati Bengals need a tight end badly, and free agent Foster Moreau can absolutely help with that
Per ESPN's Field Yates, the veteran tight end stopped by Paycor Stadium for a visit on Friday.
Moreau, a fourth-round selection from the 2019 NFL Draft, has spent the first four years of his career with the Las Vegas Raiders. For his career, he's recorded 1,107 yards and 12 touchdowns on 91 receptions.
2022 was his most productive year with the silver and black. Moreau started 14 games and notched career-highs in yards (420), receptions (33), and improved on his yards per catch from 2021 to 12.7.
Moreau is just 25 years old and is quite the athlete for the position. He ran an impressive 4.66 40-yard dash at the 2019 NFL Scouting Combine at 253 pounds. He posted solid jumps and agility times as well.
Not only does Moreau have upside as a receiver, he's an active blocker who was featured heavily in the Raiders' run packages.
The Bengals are in desperate need of a starting tight end. Hayden Hurst left for a three-year deal from the Carolina Panthers this week, and Devin Asiasi is all who remains on the roster in terms of experienced depth. Moreau would not only fill an obvious need, but he'd be reunited with one of his former quarterbacks.
Moreau, an LSU alum, spent his last year in college catching passes from Joe Burrow. The two played on the 2018 Tigers squad and developed a decent rapport with the guy who would go on to become the Bengals' franchise quarterback.
We'll find out soon enough if Moreau becomes the Bengals' third starting tight end in three years.
