Saints star helps his team solve part of problem ahead of free agency
Saints’ Pro Bowler just opened up some more money.
Defensive end Cam Jordan has been bringing down quarterbacks for the New Orleans Saints for 12 seasons, and on Monday, he helped tackle a certain problem they have.
The Saints are working diligently to get under the salary cap by the NFL's deadline which is this Wednesday, and Jordan has reworked be deal to save the team $10 million for 2023.
Jordan joins a long list of recent contract restructures in New Orleans which include safeties Tyrann Mathieu and Marcus Maye, linebacker Demario Davis, tight ends Taysom Hill, center Erik McCoy, and tackle Ryan Ramczyk.
The eight-time Pro Bowler is still a productive player.
Jordan's 66 tackles in 2022 were the second-most of his career and he also recorded 8.5 sacks and two forced fumbles. It was Jordan's seventh season of eight or more sacks.
