The Buffalo Bills have made a small splash on the first day of the NFL’s open tampering period before free agency officially opens on Wednesday.

The Bills agreed to terms on a three-year, $23 million contract with former Dallas Cowboys guard Connor McGovern, a source told NFL Media’s Mike Garafolo on Monday.

McGovern played left guard and center for the Cowboys last season. He’s played snaps at right guard, as well. He joins an offensive line in Buffalo that already includes Ryan Bates, Ike Boetger, Spencer Brown, Dion Dawkins, Tommy Doyle, Mitch Morse, Alec Anderson, Greg Mancz and Ryan Van Demark and needed help at left guard, right guard and right tackle last season.

The Bills entered the offseason with negative cap space, so they’ll need to figure out their cap situation before the McGovern news becomes official. With some creative contract structuring, McGovern could come cheap in Year 1.
