I mean, who wouldn’t want to play for the 49ers and alongside Nick Bosa?

The San Fransisco 49ers weren't expected to make a big splash during 2023 free agency, but they did just that with the signing of Pro Bowl DL Javon Hargrave.

The 49ers inked Hargrave to a massive four-year, $84 million deal that fell just short of Daron Payne's new four-year, $90 million deal that was given to him by the Washington Commanders just the day before.

ESPN's Adam Schefter was the first to break the news on Hargrave's new deal and now, he's revealed that Hargrave actually chose the 49ers over another NFL team.

Per Schefter, Hargrave's decision came down to the Cleveland Browns or the 49ers. In the end, he ultimately chose the 49ers.

It's interesting because many people have linked Denver Broncos defensive lineman Dre'Mont Jones to the Browns, especially over the last few days. The Browns' interest in Jones and the fact they just cleared nearly $36 million in cap space backs up the idea they are looking for a top-tier defensive tackle to come in and upgrade their defensive line.

It's easy to see why Hargrave chose the 49ers over the Browns. For starters, and with all due respect to Cleveland, the Bay Area is a much nicer place to live. But in terms of what matters most, which is a football perspective: Hargrave has a much better chance of regular season and postseason success in San Fransisco.

Now, it's just about making it happen.
