The Denver Broncos have had a busy offseason, proving to be spenders early and often. Day two has been no different as Sean Payton has made another vital move.

The Broncos head coach has signed FB Mike Burton from the Kansas City Chiefs, according to Ian Rapoport.

Burton has been a journeyman throughout his NFL career. The veteran has spent time with Detroit, Chicago, Washington, New Orleans, and most recently Kansas City.

While Burton didn't have jaw-dropping statistics, he brings a vital presence to the locker room.

Having someone with the success Burton has in his career and spending time with championship teams, will be invaluable. The front office should lean on that experience to help mold the younger players on the roster.

Additionally, Burton has important experience with head coach Sean Payton, as both were together in New Orleans in 2020.

Everything happens for a reason, and that was exactly how Denver landed Burton. Hours previously, the Broncos had lost Andrew Beck, their former fullback, to the Houston Texans. It appears Sean Payton wasted no time filling the position.

The Broncos head coach has proven that the team's priority has been to protect Russell Wilson. Not only that but to get the franchise quarterback more weapons.

Within the past 72 hours, Sean Payton and the Broncos front office have completed a series of moves that should have fans excited about the team's future.

We have a feeling they aren't done yet.
