NFL insider links Buffalo Bills to former All-Pro

The Buffalo Bills could have several needs to address on the defensive side of the ball in free agency.
Buffalo has a couple of key defensive players set to hit free agency, including linebacker Tremaine Edmunds and safety Jordan Poyer.
Poyer seems poised to test free agency (his comments about playing in a different state because of taxes were telling). And Edmunds might have priced himself out of Buffalo.
The Bills aren't expected to be big spenders this offseason. Buffalo doesn't have a ton of cap space — which is why they'll likely be forced to watch Edmunds sign with another team.
ESPN NFL insider Jeremy Fowler suggested on Sunday that the Bills could target Tampa Bay Buccaneers linebacker Lavonte David in free agency to replace Edmunds.
David is expected to test free agency this offseason after spending the first 11 seasons of his career in Tampa.
From ESPN: A fit that multiple scouts presented to me, unprompted: Lavonte David and the Buffalo Bills. Still a decent chance he goes back to Tampa Bay, but joining a contender would make sense.
David could be a perfect fit for the Bills. He's 33 so he shouldn't be overly expensive. Signing David, who had 124 total tackles in 2022, would provide Buffalo's defense with a solid veteran leader who could mentor younger defensive players. David could essentially serve as a "gap linebacker" until the Bills find a longterm replacement for Edmunds (likely through the draft).
Buffalo will have to be creative this offseason because of cap restraints. For that reason, David is a player that makes a lot of sense for Buffalo to target.
