One more piece to the Detroit Lions’ offseason puzzle has been slotted into place.

The Lions have been winning big by adding some top-tier talent through free agency. But as the team’s offseason workout dates continue to draw nearer, the Lions finalized an important part of its schedule.

Head coach Dan Campbell revealed that the Lions and New York Giants will be holding joint practices in the first week of the preseason.

The NFL has yet to release its 2023 schedule as of yet, so it remains unknown as to which city will host the aforementioned practices.

The Giants, much like the Lions, are a team that is on the rise in the NFC. Under head coach Brian Daboll, the Giants have built a competitive roster entering his second season at the helm. The team even won a wild card matchup on the road against the Minnesota Vikings last season.

The week of joint practices will provide Campbell and his team with a litmus test before the regular season rolls around. Though the two will square off in August, it could be a preview of a potential postseason matchup later in the season.
