Ever since the NFL allowed players to change their numbers in 2021, players across the league have been making the switch, particularly at the skill positions.
Receivers and running backs looked to go back in time to their high school and college days, swapping out the bulky double digits for sleeker single digits or low teens.
Well, a certain Giants tight end is undergoing a similar change…
Per the New York Giants, Darren Waller is changing his number from 83 to 12.
It may take some getting used to seeing Waller in Giants blue, considering he wore the black and silver of Vegas for the majority of his career.
But the number change will make for an entirely different eye-popping experience.

Switching from the big 83 to the silkier 12, should we read into this change, or is it just the start of a new chapter for Waller?
The answer is perhaps neither, considering Waller wore #12 way back in his practice squad days with the Baltimore Ravens.
It's good to see that despite the success and fame, Waller not only remembers where he came from but wants you to remember too.
