The Kansas City Chiefs will enter the 2023 season as the defending Super Bowl champions.
And they should be considered the overwhelming favorites to win it all again.
The Cincinnati Bengals, Buffalo Bills, Philadelphia Eagles, and a few other teams will be suitable challengers to Kansas City, but the Chiefs have Patrick Mahomes and that alone makes them the favorites.
Despite having Mahomes on the roster, the Chiefs still have a few areas they could stand to address this offseason.
CBS Sports recently suggested that Kansas City's biggest remaining need after the first couple of waves of free agency is along the defensive line.
From CBS Sports: Kansas City lost some of its interior defensive line depth in free agency, and that essentially leaves the Chiefs with Chris Jones. Edge rusher is a question mark as well. They picked George Karlaftis in the 2022 first round and swapped Frank Clark for Charles Omenihu this offseason. The Chiefs need more pass rush to heat up opponents as they look to repeat as Super Bowl champions.
The best way for the Chiefs to address their defensive line at this point of the offseason is likely through the 2023 NFL Draft.
Some viable options could include Clemson defensive tackle Bryan Bresee in the first round or Tennessee edge rusher Byron Young in the second round.
ESPN's Jordan Reid mocked Florida interior defensive lineman Gervon Dexter to the Chiefs in the second round in his latest seven-round mock draft. Dexter would be an ideal fit for Kansas City if they don't take an interior defensive lineman in the first round.
The Chiefs should have plenty of options in the draft. And the good news for Kansas City is that the roster is already a championship-caliber roster, they just need to supplement a couple of positions.
